Congratulations – Exam Results Nov 2014

Well done to all those who have taken the next step on their musical journey! I am so proud of every single one of you.

Congratulations to Lily C & Lucia on beautiful playing in their prep tests. Stunning reports – what lovely write ups.

Brilliant work Luke on achieving a merit on your grade 1. After only 3 terms of playing at Clifford it’s an outstanding result! I think Mrs Preston would be very proud of you.

Super work from Alice in her grade 2. Fabulously played pieces secured a solid merit. That bear dance really took off – a joy to listen to. So much hard work and dedication has paid off!

Amazing result for Ethan, achieving a good merit mark in his grade 4 piano. Jazz piece scored really highly & all sections of the exam really secure. I’ve really enjoyed learning “The Merry Huntsmen” with him, one of my favourite pieces from the syllabus this year. Looking forward to grade 5 and Ethan’s GCSE work.

What can I say about the distinction Bethany R has achieved in her grade 2, only 6 months after passing her grade 1 with a distinction. Amazing sight reading and beautiful touch on the piano. Stunning pianist! What a result!

And Clara, a grade 5 piano distinction. 2 immaculately practiced pieces in “To a Wild Rose” and “The Haunted House”  and almost full marks in aural. So thrilled on a well deserved result!

Congratulations – Summer 2014

Huge congratulations to the following students who have achieved amazing results, every single one!

For fantastic piano prep test write ups: Jessica B & Sophie H

For passing grade 1 piano, all with merit: Zara, Maisy & Anouk

For brilliant grade 2 piano results: Yasmin & EmilyRose

Very proud of Yasmin who had a wrist injury in the weeks running up to her exam, she continued to work through whilst she was wearing her sling! Super amazing Yas!

For fabulous hard work & dedication – Kaspar and his grade 3 piano, particularly proud of the work he put in to his pieces. His blues piece was a real show stopper.

Very proud of Sophie T, grade 3 piano with distinction. Highlight for me was her rendition of ‘The Policeman’s Song’, really beautifully played!

And for Grace C, who passed her grade 3 flute with distinction, including 29/30 for her study. Absolute star.

Looking forward to hearing some of these pieces performed in the Autumn concert!

Waldershelf Singers

As well as running a music teaching business, I am also the musical director for a lovely (and very talented) SATB choir called the ‘Waldershelf Singers’

We sing everything from sacred hymns and pieces to show stoppers, olde time music hall & current (ish) chart arrangements

We are currently working on our Christmas repertoire, which includes done beautiful works by Rutter, first 2 movements of Vivaldi’s Gloria, and the Jingle Bell Rock as well as a whole variety of Christmas Carols, traditional and local. We are currently on the lookout for more male singers to boost out tenor and bass sections.

We meet once a week on a Tuesday from 7.30-9.30 @ the Venue in Stocksbridge. No auditions required, just a love of singing!
